The death of Ahmed Zewail (USA resident) was announced today by the Egyptian television after a long illness, at the age of seventy years.
He was born in February 26 1946.
He obtained a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in laser science, and worked as a researcher and teacher (a Major professor of chemistry and physics) at the University of California, then at the California Institute of Technology.
Also, he won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1999 for his researches in femtochemistery.
The principal cause of his death is not already known but he has suffered from the Spinal cord cancer since 2013.
