Gear mesh frequency is the number of total events in one second. It is defined as the total number of teeth times the frequency of rotations per second. Example if a Gear has 70 teeth and rotates at a speed of 12RPM (rotations per minutes)
The number of rotations per second = 12/60=0.2 Hz or rotations per second. In a period of 0.2 rotations per second there are 0.2*70 = 14 Hz or events per second of teeth that have made an event of meshing.
